ENGLISH: Giovanni M. Slaviero is an Italian-French ‘Architecte Diplômé d'État’, whose dual nationality has enriched his creative approach. Born and raised in Rome, he breathed the cosmopolitan air of the Lycée Européen Chateaubriand and absorbed the influence of Renaissance and Baroque architecture. He furthered his education in Paris, where he lived for twenty years, initially studying in a literary hypokhâgne and then architecture. His travels to Nepal, the United States of America, Canada, Brazil, Seoul and various European and Maghreb countries sharpened his curious spirit, prompting him to explore the different cultural forms and styles in which different cultures manifest themselves. He has also taken an interest in contemporary computational architecture, working as an architect's assistant, 3D modeller and renderer, and taking an interest in Artificial Intelligence applied to architecture. While looking for a new collaboration, he discovered the art print shop ‘L'Acquaforte’ in the heart of Rome, where he learnt the art of traditional engraving from Master Luigi Ferranti, and was enchanted by it. His artistic style, often a fusion of the figurative and the abstract, reflects the current events of his time: from the success of the European Space Agency's Rosetta mission, the Charlie Hebdo attacks and the migrations caused by the conflict with the Islamic State, to the conflict in Ukraine and the fireworks of the Redentore festival in Venice. Each engraving is an expression of his creative and stylistic freedom. Trained as an architect, Giovanni M. Slaviero is also fascinated by the dialogue between the architectural and natural elements of Rome's most emblematic places, seeking to capture their genius loci and the sensations experienced on site. He has an attentive and sensitive gaze, able to capture the essence of each place and transpose it into his works. In his current research, having returned from a circumnavigation that took him to various cities on Earth, he is interested in identity, cultures and their connection to places. His international experience and his curiosity about different cultures enrich his artistic and architectural vision, making his work unique and meaningful. Giovanni M. Slaviero continues to explore and create, always looking for new inspirations and ways to express his vision of the world.

ITALIANO: Giovanni M. Slaviero è un “Architecte Diplômé d’État” italo-francese, la cui doppia nazionalità ha arricchito il suo approccio creativo. Nato e cresciuto a Roma, ha respirato l'aria cosmopolita del Liceo Europeo Chateaubriand e assorbito l'influenza dell'architettura rinascimentale e barocca. Ha proseguito la sua formazione a Parigi, dove ha vissuto per vent'anni, studiando inizialmente in una hypokhâgne letteraria e poi architettura. I suoi viaggi in Nepal, Stati Uniti d’America, Canada, Brasile, in Corea del Sud e in vari Paesi europei e del Maghreb hanno affinato il suo spirito curioso, spingendolo a esplorare le diverse forme e stili culturali in cui si manifestano le varie culture. Si è anche interessato all'architettura computazionale contemporanea, lavorando come assistente di architetti, modellatore e renderista 3D et interessandosi di Intelligenza Artificiale applicata all’architettura. Durante la ricerca di una nuova collaborazione, ha scoperto la stamperia d'arte "L'Acquaforte" nel cuore di Roma, dove ha imparato l'arte dell'incisione tradizionale dal Maestro Luigi Ferranti, e ne è rimasto incantato. Il suo stile artistico, spesso una fusione tra il figurativo e l'astratto, riflette l'attualità del suo tempo: dal successo della missione Rosetta dell'Agenzia Spaziale Europea, agli attacchi di Charlie Hebdo e le migrazioni causate dal conflitto con lo Stato Islamico, fino al conflitto in Ucraina e i fuochi d'artificio della festa del Redentore a Venezia. Ogni incisione è un'espressione della sua libertà creativa e stilistica. Formatosi come architetto, Giovanni M. Slaviero è anche affascinato dal dialogo tra gli elementi architettonici e naturali dei luoghi più emblematici di Roma, cercando di catturarne il genius loci e le sensazioni provate in loco.
